I wonder whether attitudes will be so blase given that we are facing the possibility of a quintuple whammy of oil, water and food shortages, population overload and the collapse of the global financial roulette table? Even if we manage to sidestep all but one of these calamities social unrest is inevitable and so will be the pressure on government to curtail civil liberties and roll back reforms we now take for granted. How fortunate that we have so willingly and spinelessly given them the tools to expedite such.
