| Most of Solomon’s best work has come from a central position, especially getting in and around the six yard box to score his goals. If we could afford the luxury of playing him up top around a decent centre forward I think he would go up another level. The problem with playing him a little deeper as a modern no 10 is he wouldn’t have the engine and strength to play that role. Solomon would have been great as a Keegan to a Toshack, or a Phillips to a Niall Quinn, but the modern game has made that type of player almost obsolete. I’d keep him on the left wing but encourage him to try and concentrate on getting outside defenders and making wide runs in behind them. He’s not gonna take Dan James position as right winger, it’s simply not up for grabs, so we’ve got to to try and utilise him and grow his game best we can as preferably a wide left player that doesn’t keep cutting back inside or backwards as he tends to do as a right foot dominant player. He’s absolutely tiny by the way, I was chatting to him the other day and I was surprised how small and slight he is in person.

| Tough win, but good to grind out another 3 points. Crazy that he didnt make any subs til right at the end, when we have an early saturday kick off. Surely he must be making changes to the starting 11 on Saturday.

| Very good win after Sunday`s performance. Rothwell mom followed by Solomon and I also thought Piroe had a very good game linking well with the wide players. Aaronson better but still not effective and either runs into a blind alley or takes the shot when a pass would do. Firpo also had a good game as did Struijk and Rodon. A win on Saturday which is farcical giving us 1 day to prepare for a lunch time kickoff. Like I`ve said before I don`t get why Gruev plays when we are away from home against a bottom half team. I understand if we are away to a top 6 team but we should be beating and therefore attacking lower ranked teams not preserving a loss.
