Unfortunately i think both Salford and the RFL have to cop some of the blame
The new owners at Salford clearly dont have the appetite to run a rugby club at a level that is competitive and i feel for the staff involved at salford and their fans. Equally the RFL have validated the new owners as fit and proper (but they appear to be anything but in a rugby sense)
from something i read a couple of weeks back, the new owners arent interested in the rugby club but the land around, so i would assume that is why they arent investing in the rugby side of things i.e. paying players, increasing the cap allowed for the playing roster etc and unfortunately the whole thing is now turning into a farce (as if it wasnt in the 1st place). And, as i've said above, i feel for the genuine rugby people at Salford as they are in a no win situation at the minute
