Does that mean we can all sign a rugby union star on the RFL's tab this sounds like bull to me

Stop it mate you will be panicking our friends from St Helens, they can ill afford to lose the points difference they gained in the first match of the season.

Does anyone know what would happen if Salford did go under and fail to finish the season? Would all league points and points scored for/against all become null and void?

You'd assume so as it's unfair on the teams that haven't played them yet. Though with loop fixtures it could turn into a mess.

Given the rating system for clubs getting promoted etc. it begs the question how they were even allowed to start the season.

Unfortunately i think both Salford and the RFL have to cop some of the blame

The new owners at Salford clearly dont have the appetite to run a rugby club at a level that is competitive and i feel for the staff involved at salford and their fans. Equally the RFL have validated the new owners as fit and proper (but they appear to be anything but in a rugby sense)


from something i read a couple of weeks back, the new owners arent interested in the rugby club but the land around, so i would assume that is why they arent investing in the rugby side of things i.e. paying players, increasing the cap allowed for the playing roster etc and unfortunately the whole thing is now turning into a farce (as if it wasnt in the 1st place). And, as i've said above, i feel for the genuine rugby people at Salford as they are in a no win situation at the minute
