Agree Faatill is looking the real deal the more he plays ,the Question is who do we leave out of the 17 squad in the forwards when all fit Powell even said he is going to have to make some big decision about the team in a few week when players start returning.
What has impressed me with Faatilli is he hasn’t made any errors. It’s clear there is a player in there somewhere. Now he’s been here a month his minutes have increased to a good 30 minute spell or so. It was 100% the right call to ease him into games and slowly increase his minutes.
It’s a tough call for Powell now Rodwell is nearing fitness and Pitts only has a niggle.
A couple will have to train hard and wait their chance. The likes of Wigan, Saints etc have quality players who miss out but will still train hard and professionally for when they’re needed. That’s about the personality of the player which I hope we have good ones.
Still we have enough quality to rotate a little bit of a forward or two has a niggle so I think we may see minor changes as the weeks go by. The Hull game is a short turn around so players like Scott, maybe Rodwell, Roarke, Walmsley, Russell could ideally give a few pairs of fresh legs and energy options.
I don’t envy Powell but it’s better than the alternative of being down on troops.
I have confidence in pretty much any of our squad to take the field this year.
If as it seems some Salford players may be available I was looking at their squad today and honestly other than quota players there’s only one I think would be of interest. Joe Sharrocks who plays 13.
