| Hi all. My first season watching super league. Always been a union fan and overlooked RL but after the controversy of last seasons grand final, coupled with a bit of persuasion from a Warrington supporting friend, I've decided to give super league a go.
Watched all games on sky so far this season and gotta say I've been really impressed. So much so that I've decided to Pop along and watch you guys play on the 13/3 vs Leeds rhinos.
So just wondered if I could get some advice on where the best place to sit/stand is? Wherever the best atmosphere is prefrebly. And also where do the fans have a pre match pint? Are there a few pubs or a specific one most fans meet at?
Hopefully, all being well, it'll be my first of a few games this season.

| Glad to have you on board. Other fans are better placed than me to talk about pre-match pubs as I nowadays live 140 miles away from the HJ. South Stand ( standing area ) is the main home support area, but you can go anywhere. West is usually away fans. If you can make it before March then the game against NRL club St George Illawarra should be something special.

| Welcome to the better code! Haha you've picked a good game to go to as well, Friday night game under floodlights always makes a good atmosphere and Leeds fans travel well and are usually quite vocal.
You'll find the best atmosphere in the South stand. It is standing only though. The fans closer to the away end (West stand) seem to make the most noise but anywhere should be good.
Pre-match drinking there isn't really one pub all the Wire fans go to. There are three pubs right outside the ground (The Rodney, The Red Lion and The three Pigeons) and they are, as you can imagine, always rammed. The Kings head just up the road directly opposite the train station is cracking. Large drinking space at the back but the bar is always busy.
If you walk into the town centre (literally a 5 minute walk maximum to even the furthest pub) you will find many places to drink and always full.
Hope you have a good experience and bring some of your friends with you next time!

| Red Lion was shut last Saturday. As a result the Rodney was absolutely bouncing.

| Welcome on-board Sam! Always good to hear about new fans joining the cause.
Whereabouts are you based? Are you outside the traditional RL heartlands?
Its a bit of a roller coaster (being a Wires fan)... thankfully the ups are a bit more frequent these days.
Its never a dull moment and the game of RL is truly exhilarating when two good teams lock horns. Enjoy!

Welcome Sam, your story sounds a bit similar to myself - I grew up in the south watching RU, kept an occasional eye on what was happening in League, particularly when seeing the impressive quality of players crossing to Union in the mid 90's, but didn't really get into following SL until being introduced by a long-time Wire in 2011. So I'm relatively new but have really come to love it as much as RU and am very glad the friend who got me into it was a Wire, it's a club with a great owner and outlook and as far as I can see normally you'll have 8 months of so of terrifically exciting ups and downs followed by a painful long night of the soul in October and then you can't wait for it to start again. However, you've come along at a great time as it so happens this is our year...

| The ground:
North and South stands are the 2 main long stands.
The North is the premium stand and all seater
The South is all standing, the more vocal fans tend to be there especially towards the West side of the South.
Behind the sticks, the East stand is all seater
The west stand is the usual away stand and is all standing.
Pubs, 5 or 6 (at least) within 5 minutes of the ground.
The Red Lion, The Rodney, Three Pigeons, The Original Wire all across the road from the ground and then others slightly but not much further out.
Car parking within 2 mins of the ground (DON'T PARK ON TESCO).
Anything you want to know ask Cat, he's like Rainman

Hi mate. Newtown, mid wales. As it goes Warrington is probably the nearest Super league team to me.
It's a pretty Union based town with the odd league fan here and there.

| Welcome to the better code Sam!
The Rodney or Kings Head for a pre-match pint, get plenty in ya as it's £4 a pint in the stadium!
Best place to stand is the South West corner for atmosphere.
